Community Center at the Grange

Kersey Center White Siding 5-2-2019

Beginning in 2018 with the goal of preserving the historic Grange building, the Town applied for an Energy Impact Funds grant through the Colorado Department of Local Affairs. Located at 215 2nd St. in Kersey, the original building served since the mid 1940's as a gathering place in addition to a pre-school for many years. While extraordinary efforts were made to rehabilitate the original building, the unfortunate reality was the building was significantly out of code and could not reasonably be remodeled. After a lot of discussion, community input, and contemplation, the best alternative was to start new! The proposed building will be twice the size of the original grange building with an assembly room on one side and a space for the Town's various service clubs and Seniors on the other. This will be a great new addition to Town and is expected to go under construction the first week in July 2019. Watch for the ground-breaking announcement!
