Mark was born and raised in upstate New York (Jamestown) area.  He spent 5 years in the U.S. Navy as an aircraft carrier engineer and was honorably discharged in 1993.  In the military he did four tours out at sea and one tour in the Persian Gulf during the war.

After the navy, Mark attended Florida University and graduated with a degree in Criminology.  After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer.  He also was in a Special ops team (S.W.A.T.) for 4 yrs and did 3 tours in Iraq. He was honorably discharged in 2005.

After the military he went to the Colorado Police academy in 2007 at Highlands Ranch Public Safety Training Institute in Douglas County.  Mark has served the residents of Kersey since 2021.
